My take on Exercise 23: Using storytelling to sell a mountain bike app

Here’s my go at writing the opening to an email selling a mountain biking app, using the same storytelling technique as the famous $2 billion Wall Street Journal letter.

On a sharp early winter’s morning a couple of years ago, my biking buddy Mike and I were looking for new trails to try.

We had identical bikes and identical gear, but I had a blazing ride while Mike was left feeling like he missed out.

The difference was I had TrailBLAZR on my smartphone.
